3 Day International Conference On Integration of Information Technology in Science Education - January 16 – 18, 2007, Gazimagusa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

The Inter Islamic Network on Information Technology (INIT) in collaboration with the Government of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Islamic Conference Standing Committee on Scientific and technological Cooperation, Islamabad, Pakistan (COMSTECH), COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan (CIIT) and Eastern Mediterranean University, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus held a 3- Day international conference on ‘Integration of Information Technology in Science Education’ on January 16-18,2007 at Eastern Mediterranean University, Gazimagusa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The conference was aimed at forecasting the creation and dissemination of knowledge about the integration of Information Technology in the education of science, engineering and mathematics. To initiate, enhance and foster collaborations in key areas and issues among academicians, practitioners and researchers active in IT applications and education in the perspective of OIC member States.

The subject conference was a commendable success as Muslim scholars and experts from ten (10) countries took part in terms of 1 Key note address, 22 Paper Presentations and 11 Invited Talks. The conference came out as an excellent event of deliberation and exchange of intellectual thoughts among the eminent scholars and stakeholders of the Islamic World. This surely had considerable impact on the policy making of the Islamic states concerning the technical and scientific education especially in the field of Information Technology. 21 Institutions have representation with 25 speakers.
